Drama Circle Workshops was launched in September 2005 by Samantha Harris and offers fun and stimulating drama education to primary school children aged five to eleven years.

Through regular drama clubs, one off workshops, lunch classes and holiday activities Drama Circle Workshops aims to develop young peoples creative and social skills. All sessions are structured to introduce theatre skills as well as give participants the chance to act out their own plays.

Samantha is a qualified actress and drama teacher. Graduating from Richmond Drama School in 2003, Samantha has worked in theatre and film. Her theatre work includes touring with several children’s theatre companies. She gained a Drama PGCE from Central School of Speech and Drama in 1996 and more recently finished a Primary Refresher Course at Roehampton University.

"At a time when children’s learning is so geared towards attainment targets, drama can release their imagination, offer new pathways into learning and provide a healthy balance to their school experience," says Samantha.

She uses a combination of whole group games and small group exercises to create a dynamic workshop experience with focus on pace and introducing a wide variety of stimulus used such as photographs, poems and scripts.

"I want to develop confident performers with focus on clear presentation skills and also give children an introduction to the theatrical process of rehearsal and performance. The sessions will provide a fantastic literacy opportunity where children can develop their own responses to drama work presented."

Samantha can provide CRB and references on request.
